Isaiah 1-39 (First Isaiah)

Jerusalem, c. 740-700 BCE, spanning the Syro-Ephraimite crisis and Sennacherib's invasion of 701. Chapters 40-55 and 56-66 are the work of later hands and appear in Sections IV and V. Chapters 24-27 and 34-35 are also usually dated later than the eighth century.
